Aidan Conlon set up Kyle Rogers who put one between the pipes to even it up. Before the end of the 1st period, Liam Conners, Conlon and Rogers made a similar play to take the lead 2:1.

The Cavs defense was put to the test with Gardner making several attempts to break through. Gardner scored, but 20 seconds later, Taylor Farrow assisted by Brendan MacVarish kept the pressure on and found the back of the net. With 4:06 left in the 2nd period, Galgay cleared the zone and Rogers picked up the puck, passed it to Conners who scored Hollis' 6th goal of the game.

With :15 on the clock, Gardner rallied and scored their 3rd and what would be their final goal.
